Line and Value Tree

These are the student examples for this lesson, teaching different line techniques and an introduction to creating shadows, using different types of value. This drawing is more of an exercise it can still produce really impressive work.

01

Tree at Sunset

Clinton Middle School 6th Grade:

The student chose to make his sun lower, so that he could see what his tree would look like at sunset since everyone else was going to make theirs with the sun higher up. I think it was a good choice

02

Wavy Tree

Clinton Middle School 6th Grade:

This project the student chooses to make his lines longer and more wavy, and it appears that we are looking at the tree through a glass of water.  its quite unique.

Oak Tree

Clinton Middle School 6th Grade:

This student had a strong grasp of her technique of using value to create areas of interest. As well as where to use soft lines and hard lines to give each part of the drawing a different feel. Very Impressive

04

Skinny Tree

Clinton Middle School 6th Grade:

This student made the choice to have their tree be circular, the way they chose to shade their tree almost looks like the style of a famous artist from Iowa Grant Wood. Its a very impressive piece.
